Wallied

Wallied M. Orabi is a PhD Candidate and a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before joining the PhD program in the University of Illinois,  Wallied earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Cairo University in 1996; and a Graduate Diploma and an M.Sc. in Construction Engineering from the American University in Cairo in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Wallied's doctoral research focuses on developing multi-objective decision support systems for post-disaster reconstruction and pre-disaster rehabilitation efforts of failing civil infrastructure systems. He has authored a number of peer-reviewed papers in academic journals and conference proceedings. He is also a reviewer in two leading construction engineering and management journals and participated in the review process of an international construction management and economics conference. In addition, Wallied has over seven years of industry experience in leading engineering positions working for international contractors on construction of major civil infrastructure projects. Finally, in recognition of his academic and professional accomplishments, Wallied has received seven different merit-based honors and awards.
